One of India's top producers of aluminum extrusion is Jindal Aluminium Limited (JAL). The company began its adventure in 1968 with the construction of an aluminum extrusion factory. As of right now, it operates 11 presses with an installed capacity of 1,20,000 tons annually.
In 2017–18, Jindal met 30% of the nation’s overall demand for extrusions while producing approximately 85,490 tonnes, making it the largest extrusion factory in the nation.
Offering a wide range of aluminium alloys including AA 1100, 1200, 1050, 1060, 1070, 3003, 31000, 3105, 8011, 5005 and 5052, Jindal is known for its product and product quality that are well accepted all across the globe in diverse alloy combinations for segments such as Aviation, Architectural, Transport, Electronics, Defence, Solar, Roofing, Cladding, Insulation, Closure stock, Foils etc.
The company also exports its aluminium extrusion products to several countries of the world. Due to image, reputation and high quality, its products command 15% premium in the market.
The company’s present annual turnover is over Rs.2750 crore, share capital and reserves are around INR 1110 crore.
Moving forward, JAL also expanded into the production of rolled aluminum goods, putting into operation a cutting-edge factory in Dabaspet, Bangalore, that can produce 40,000 tons of aluminum foil and sheet annually. This division produced 33,395 tonnes of aluminum rolled products in total between 2017 and 2018, including sheets, coils, and chequered sheets with a thickness of less than 5 mm.
Additionally, JAL sells these rolled aluminum products to a number of nations, namely the US, Canada, Australia, UK, and the Middle East.
